​I am attempting to show both the Allied order of battle at the beginning of Operation Grapeshot and major changes as Operation Grapeshot, known in the US as the Po Valley Campaign progressed.

Key Dates (1945):
  • 18 January - British XIII Corps returned from US Fifth Army to British Eighth Army control.
  • 6 April - Operation Grapeshot begins in Eighth Army sector.
  • 21 Apr - Bologna liberated as US Fifth Army exits the Apennine Mountains.
  • 23 Apr - Allied forces begin crossing the Po River.
  • 2 May - Armistice in effect in Italy.

  • 92nd Infantry Division (Almond) - from IV Corps 3 Apr 1945; advanced up the Italian west coast; in northwest Italy east of Turin 2 May 1945.
  • 85th Infantry Division (Coulter) - to IV Corps 17 Apr 1945.
  • 10th Mountain Division (Hays) - from IV Corps 28 Apr 1945; in north Italy near Lake Garda 2 May 1945.

  • Brazilian Expeditionary Force (de Morais/Mascarenhas) - in northwest Italy at Susa west of Turin 2 May 1945.
