Notes for Fred Herman & John Phillip Heckman: S/o Johan Christian "Chris" Heckmann Jr. (d. 1927) & Anna K. Schwarting (d. 1916), who farmed in Audubon Twp., SE Audubon Co. I know little information about the military service of the Heckman brothers. I am guessing that Fred was still assigned to the Chew when he died while John died on the Anzio Beachhead.
