Outliers, anomalies from the above list:
- This list is incomplete, as it does not include some Missing in Action who were later given a Finding of Death.
- Almost all of those listed are in Big Pigeon's WWII Dead > Roster Records. Exceptions are noted below.
Transcription errors noted:
- William Conner refers to William E. O'Conner, who appears later.
- Earl Carlton refers to Earl Carlton Alter, who appears earlier.
- Eldon D. Crockett is Oliver Eldon Crockett.
- Ivey Dorsie refers to Dorsie Eugene Ivy.
- H. Folmer Hansen Jr. is Hans Folmer Hansen Rattenborg Jr.
- Leo Vincent, refers to Leo Vincent Green, who appears earlier.
Other variations in names:
- Oscar Holst was the name used in service by Oscar Holst Pedersen.
Died after discharge and thus in Ancillary Records:
- Aaron E. Fisk - died in VA hospital of organ failure.
- George C. Hadfield - died in VA hospital of cancer.
- Douglas W. Wilson - died in VA hospital of unspecified causes.
These were new finds, which now been added to Roster Records:
- Robert W. Collins - from Boone & Pott. Cos.
- Jack N. Christensen - from Lancaster Co., NE & Pott. Co.
- Milo Dunbar - from Monona Co.
- Joseph Feltheger - from Des Moines & Pott. Cos.
- Vernon A. Martin - from Haakon Co., SD.
Outliers, anomalies from the above list:
- Andrew Anderson was Andrew Peter Andersen, the pastor of rural Neola's St. Paul's Lutheran Church, who probably never served and died in California in 1956. St. Paul's was actively keeping track of their members who were serving, and thus he may have erroneously found his way into the Nonpareil files. Of course, he will not be added to Roster Records.
- Clifford M. Burgstrum was a civilian, but was already in the Roster Records by virtue of his burial in the Punchbowl Cemetery in Honolulu.
- Matthias P. Hansen was from Humboldt Co., CA, and not Hancock, IA. Early in the development of this website, I added him to Roster Records.
- Robert L. Wilkinson is an enigma - I can't find any other on-line information, military or otherwise, about this individual. His wife is given as Mrs. Ruth Wilkinson of Council Bluffs. The only Ruth Wilkinson in Council Bluffs during this period is Ruth Wilkinson, daughter of John Watson Wilkinson & Mary Ann Wilkinson, a Nebraska native and a long-term resident of Council Bluffs, who lived with her sister. The obituary of Richard Wayne Wilkinson, born in 1935 and who appears in the 1950 census as the son of Ruth, might be helpful. Robert L. Wilkinson is not in Roster Records.
