This is the access page for Volume 3, the
Larsen Family, of Robert Christiansen’s Family History - Christiansen, Rasmussen, Larsen & Hansen.

My Larsen great-grandfather was born Niels Christensen in the Aalborg area and had a daughter from an early marriage in Denmark.  He immigrated to Council Bluffs, Iowa in 1867-69, leaving his family behind; his first wife died in 1868.

My Larsen great-grandmother, Maren Larsen, was raised near Hillerød north of Copenhagen and had five children in Denmark from her first marriage, to Anders Larsen.  Anders, Maren and their five childen immigrated to Council Bluffs, Iowa in 1870, where Anders and the youngest child soon died.

Niels and Maren married and Niels changed his name to Niels Larsen.  Niels and Maren moved to Hazel Dell Township and had three children together, namely Annie, Andrew and Henry.

Over the years the family gradually adopted to spelling "Larson".
