- St. Paul’s Lutheran Church is located in Boomer Township, Pottawattamie County, Iowa, about fifteen miles north of Council Bluffs and eight miles west of Neola.
- Rev. Norm Jelken is the current pastor at St. Paul’s.
- The St. Paul’s congregation was organized by Danish immigrants in 1881.
- In 1883, the first church building was erected on land purchased from my great-grandparents, Lars and Karen Rasmussen.
- The present church, west of the earlier church, dates from 1905.
- Lars and Karen Rasmussen, along with all my other great-grandparents, my grandparents, and numerous other relatives are interred in the St. Paul’s Cemetery, east of the church.

- One goal of these family reports is to help descendants of the early families of St. Paul’s locate their roots in Denmark.
- I was helped by many individuals, including especially my late cousin, Elaine (Bondo) Hoyer. See the Acknowledgments webpage for some of the many others who helped.
- I’d be interested if you know more about your family in Denmark than I have disclosed in my reports. Moreover, most of the 43 family reports have not been carefully proofread or reviewed by family members. I encourage your corrections and suggestions. See the Contact Form in the Usage Hints webpage.
- Relatives and friends have helped me with some old photographs, which I hope to add later.
